Environment and sustainability

Corporate social responsibility, or CSR: more important than ever. We don’t have to explain that to you. It is about how you embed the guidelines in your company in a verifiable way in the processes. This way you know whether you are really doing the right thing and responsibly.

The ISO 14001 standard

With the help of an environmental management system according to the ISO 14001 standard, the environmental risks of business operations can be controlled and reduced. This is done through an environmental risk assessment in which the environmental risks for all relevant environmental aspects of the organization are assessed. The resulting treatment plan includes control measures that are documented in an environmental plan. This plan should be tailored and adapted to the nature, size and complexity of the organization.

CO2-Performance ladder

The CO2 Performance Ladder is the sustainability instrument of the Netherlands that helps companies and governments to reduce CO2 and costs in business operations, projects and in the chain. Organizations that are certified according to the ladder will experience this as an investment that pays for itself immediately in terms of lower energy costs, material savings and innovation gains. The CO2 Performance Ladder was developed by ProRail and has been managed since 2011 by the Foundation for Climate Friendly Procurement and Entrepreneurship.

ISO 50001

The Energy Agreement stipulates that by 2050 all buildings in the Netherlands must be energy neutral. The ISO 50001 standard monitors energy consumption in detail and sets stricter requirements for the use of energy than the ISO 14001 standard. From 2023, every office larger than 100 m2 must have at least energy label C, and from 2030 this will even be energy label A. It is smart to combine both energy labels to avoid duplication of work and extra costs

CSR Performance Ladder

The CSR Performance Ladder Management System – Requirements and Certification Standard for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) offers a concrete, objective and demonstrable way to realize sustainable development based on social involvement. This certification standard for Corporate Social Responsibility is based on principles from international guidelines for sustainability (ISO 26000), stakeholder management (AA1000) and indicators and reporting (GRI) and is internationally applicable. ISO 26000 is not a management system standard, but the CSR Performance Ladder is suitable for certification.
